You feel like you've lost your way. You're stuck in a pattern that you aren't sure how to get out of. Life is not easy and knowing how to navigate everything on your own has escaped you. You feel sad, anxious or scared and those feelings are blurring your path. And you know that addressing these patterns and healing can help you to get back to where you want to be. Have an idea about specific events that are impacting you?
You have experienced an event or a series of events in your past that you can't seem to escape. No matter what you do, the events seem to lurk over you, causing discomfort and impacting the way you live your life. The memories of the events feel haunting. They cause you to lose sleep, avoid certain situations, and feel fearful and anxious. You may even feel ashamed at the way you are responding to these memories. EMDR may be able to help by diminishing the fear response and resolving the memories so that you can get back to experiencing the joy of life.
Teens: The struggle is real, there is so much pressure
All this pressure seems to slowly build as you become a teenager and just when you think you have had enough, it gets even more intense. You are learning to adult, trying to figure out who you are and want to become all while managing the increasing responsibilities and expectations. You often feel sad, worried about your future and unsure of yourself. The pain may be so intense that you aren't sure this life is possible. And lots of adults don't seem to understand you. Together we can build effective communication strategies that can support you and help you cope with fear and uncertainty.
Elder Adults: Resources are scarce and finances are limited
You feel uncertain about the future, worried about how you will get care as your needs change. You have been your own boss your whole life, the thought of needing help is terrifying. The thought of loosing independence or not being able to do what you want to do keeps you awake at night. Knowing how you will provide care for an ill spouse as you both age together has you feeling anxious and afraid. Together we can examine practical solutions, utilizing available resources and minimizing family conflict. I am well versed in this area and have nearly a decade of experience supporting our community's elderly population.
There is no doubt this is one of the hardest and scariest times of your life. The feelings that surround you come fast and are often confusing. You have little to no control. Knowing how to move forward feels impossible. A new diagnosis can take you off your feet. There can be so much pain and sadness that it consumes you. It's difficult to know how to support yourself and the ones you love. Your family is sad, worried and afraid and there are so many plans to make.
