I offer Legacy Project coordination and support and am passionate about these special projects. Legacy projects are a way for you to reflect on your life story and process important moments with the people who have helped to shape who you have become. Through a legacy project you can pass down a memento that your family can enjoy for generations to come.
Research has found that legacy work can provide benefits to people facing chronic or terminal illness. They can offer a focus on living and provide purpose.
Legacy projects may bring families together, reduce caregiver stress and decrease depression symptoms for people coping with chronic illness or facing end of life.
Legacy projects can also be an emotional process. As people begin to review their life and tell their story it is possible that some regrets or painful emotions related to past events may surface. This is why engaging with a therapist during this process can be helpful.
There are many types of legacy projects. They can be simple or elaborate. All are meaningful!
Some examples of legacy projects include:
Audio recordings of life stories and life lessons
Ethical wills, a passing on of values that guide you and your family
There are no rules for a legacy project and no requirements. You do not have to be ill or older to create a legacy project. If you and/or your loved ones are interested in completing a legacy project, but aren’t sure where to start, I would be honored to assist you.
The best way to connect with me for an initial consultation is to call. It's free and it will give us each the opportunity to learn more about each other, allowing us to make an informed choice about working together. I look forward to your call. Email is not secure and I discourage it for that reason.
